solo eClypse is a single artist, Scott R. Pollak, who has played guitar - primarily acoustic - for more than 35 years. It wasn't until recently, though, after his wife of 20 years, KC, gave him a Yamaha keyboard/synthesizer that he discovered an entirely new realm of musical possibilities. Combined with years of high-end digital audio editing expertise, it was a perfect and natural fit for Scott. Scott has worked in and out of the radio business for almost 30 years and is saddened by the watered-down blandness of today's airwaves. Satellite radio and internet streaming has opened up glorious new channels of intelligent, refreshing, and exploratory music of ALL genres to those who are sick of the 'same old thing' and are seeking new musical venues. For years Scott has enjoyed alternative music from groundbreaking artists such as Mark Isham, Patrick O'Hearn, Enigma, Enya, Young American Primitive, Global Communications, Tangerine Dream and - MANY years ago - even Kraftwerk. Now he's finally creating the music he's always loved so much. Scott's goal, however, is not to get pinned down into a rut as so easily happens in any creative endeavor. It's not at all unusual for him to work on a composition for weeks on end, only to ultimately delete the entire session out of dissatisfaction for how the song was progressing. Scott's - or solo eClypse's - debut c.d. "Unsettled Dreams" was released spring 2006 to the delight of many new fans who are soaking up this new musical journey. Scott is currently at work on his second c.d., "Artifacts", due for release Spring 2008.. You can read reviews and sample new, as-yet unreleased tracks, on our news page.
Scott uses a Yamaha CS2X keyboard synthesizer, Taylor Dan Crary Custom Signature acoustic guitar, Paul Reed Smith Tremonti SE electric guitar, Zoom MRT-3b percussion unit, and Cool Edit Pro, V.2.0, to create his music. |
